The “Uniting” Foundation – Reflecting on our Accomplishments in 2024!

This year has been a journey of love, care, new collaborations and countless challenges. As we look back, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for what we’ve accomplished together. The numbers we’ve achieved tell only part of the “Uniting” story. Behind each statistic lie myriads of heartfelt moments, words of thanks, and tears of joy.

• Nearly 12,000 hours were devoted to senior care – a remarkable 36% more than last year. Every hour spent represents our team’s unwavering commitment to providing practical assistance, compassion, and comfort to those who need it most.
4,967 food baskets (+26%) and 1,922 warm lunch portions (+15%) were delivered to low-income individuals. Each basket and meal not only nourished but reminded someone that they matter and are not forgotten.
22 safe bathrooms were installed in the homes of senior citizens, which nearly doubles last year’s number. These improvements are life-changing, ensuring seniors can live with greater safety, dignity, and independence.

Health and well-being have been at the heart of our mission:
On 366 occasions – every single day of the year – medicines and medical services were provided, ensuring better health and quality of life.
40 special transport trips enabled individuals with reduced mobility to access medical care and participate in their communities.
400 hours of physiotherapy and 37 podiatrist visits made daily movements easier and more comfortable for our seniors.

Thanks to our support this year the Freiburger Baroque Orchestra graced the stage of Liepāja’s Great Amber Concert Hall, the Liepāja Theatre brought “The Diary of Anne Frank” to life and the awesome Jewish-Latvian folk band “Black Rooster Kapelye” released an album, a book, and shared their music on a tour across Latvia.

We also worked to preserve our shared heritage, supporting books, exhibitions, and the restoration of memorials, ensuring these stories live on for generations to come.

Our partnership with “Hospiss LV” enabled us to donate 10 functional beds, bringing comfort and dignity to patients in their final days.

In education and sports, we supported the development of wheelchair tennis in Latvia, delivered digital learning tools for children with special needs, and championed other initiatives that inspire and empower.

This year inspired us to launch the “Open Your Heart and Help Seniors Thrive!” campaign, sharing stories of resilience and hope while inviting everyone to make a difference. Thanks to your generosity, we organized 13 cultural events filled with warmth, laughter, and connection for our seniors.

None of this would have been possible without you – our incredible supporters, friends, and team. Your donations, encouragement, and belief in our mission have made a profound impact.

As we prepare for 2025, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Support our mission: Donate here

Together, we can make the world a brighter place!
